It was reported that the suspect behind the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) shooting incident was arrested at 3pm on Monday (April 15) in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
Following this, the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Hafizul Harawi, had to be transported to Selangor for further investigations into the shooting that left the bodyguard of his wife, who was the intended victim, severely injured and placed in a medically-induced coma.
Sinar Harian took to their Twitter page to showcase the arrival of the suspect at the Pangkalan Pasukan Gerakan Udara (PGU) PDRM in Subang, after he had been flown in via the Royal Malaysia Police’s (PDRM’s) light aircraft, a King Air B300.
They wrote, “The suspect in the KLIA shooting case has been brought home. The suspect who opened fire at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) arrival hall arrived at the Pangkalan Pasukan Gerakan Udara (PGU) PDRM, Subang, Selangor.”
In the video showcased, the suspect, wearing a purple prison jumpsuit, could be seen disembarking the light aircraft following their arrival at PGU PDRM.
He was then driven away by the police in a waiting car.
Malaysians, though, questioned why it was necessary to use a plane to transport the suspect when the authorities could have easily just driven him from Kelantan to Selangor.
“What’s the rush until they had to use an airplane?”
“Wow, he got to fly on a jet. That’s taxpayer money. What’s the need for them to use a jet? They can just transport him using the Black Maria.”
“Being a criminal and getting to fly on an airplane. They should just transport him using the Black Maria lorry. Let him get punch-drunk in the lorry.”
“Just a waste of airplane fuel.”
