Festive seasons and open houses are meant to be fun affairs, but they always come with a side of tolerance from both the celebrators and the neighbours.
This includes ensuring the rubbish is not openly thrown everywhere and noise is kept to a minimum so that the neighbours are not disturbed, which should be the celebrator’s responsibility.
Unfortunately, one family who was having an open house in Kapar, Klang decided to completely do away with courtesy and blasted their music at an alarmingly loud volume while partying on the streets at 3:30am. When their neighbour, who had a small child that could not sleep because of the noise, confronted them and asked them to turn their music down, things started going haywire, as shared by the neighbour’s wife, Saira N Kamal on her Facebook page.
After Saira’s husband had asked them to turn down their music, the family had apparently turned a blind eye on their request and continued to blast their music.
They then had no choice but to call the police and make a noise complaint. When the police arrived though, they could not do much as the family apparently had a permit for the party. The police then asked Saira’s husband to head down to the station and make an official report. After the police had left, all hell broke loose as the family was not happy that the husband had called the police. Some of the family members climbed over the wall in between their houses and tried to start a fight with Saira’s husband. They even threw chairs around.
Saira’s poor little daughter had to watch the entire scene unfold.
According to the police report, one of the family members even threatened to severely injure Saira’s husband. But the worst part is that the family then decided to light firecrackers in front of Saira’s husband’s car and house in an effort to cause damage.
The car’s front bumper was also broken because of the chair that was thrown.
“Based on permits, music should be shut down by 12am. But they’ve been doing this since Deepavali, every night up until now for a wedding. The most extreme was last night where they partied until 7am. I haven’t slept and my daughter is traumatised,” Saira said in her posting.
“All of this would not have happened if there had been consideration amongst the neighbours. I have never stopped any of the neighbours from holding open houses or parties, but everything has a limit,” Saira’s husband told Harian Metro.
Since then, according to North Klang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Nurulhuda Mohd Salleh via Harian Metro, 3 men between the ages of 21 to 24 were arrested as suspects in the incident.
The case is now being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code, Section 448 of the Penal Code and Section 427 of the Penal Code.
