Our country is filled with beautiful sights and wonderful food which is why we are constantly ranked as one of the best destinations for international visitors.

However, with the rise of social media platforms and the Internet, it has also become important for places to be Instagram friendly or ‘Instagrammable’ in order to attract visitors.

Fortunately, online travel media site, Big Seven Travel, has just ranked Kuala Lumpur as the 38th most ‘Instagrammable’ place in the world this year.

In their top 50 list of the most ‘Instagrammable’ places in the world, Kuala Lumpur was ranked 38th and was said to be “practically oozing with Insta-aesthetic”.

“Whether you live to capture the cultural aspects of a city or are more about nature, you’ve got a little of both in Kuala Lumpur.”

The ranking said that Kuala Lumpur’s best photo opportunities are the lush forests of the KL Forest Park, the glorious colours of Batu Caves and the serene atmosphere of the ever-beautiful Thean Hou Temple.

Meanwhile, Singapore was said to be the most ‘Instagrammable’ place globally in 2022 by the online travel media site.

They also labelled Singapore as one of Asia’s art hubs, adding that there is almost always a unique exhibit going on perfect for those “wow” pictures.

Other Southeast Asian cities that made the rankings included Ha Long Bay, Hoi An, Phuket and Bali. Hong Kong also made the list, coming in at 17th.

Boracay, Philippines which boasts “dreamy sunsets on sandy beaches, fire dances and bustling bars” as well as Oahu, Hawaii’s “soaring mountain peaks, palm-fringed beaches and colourful capital”, made up the top three.
