Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa in a press conference yesterday (5 September) issued a warning to the public, especially content creators, to stay away from the sinkhole site at Jalan Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur.
Replying to a question by a reporter, Rusdi said that the sinkhole site is still closed off to the public as several agencies, such as the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) are doing work there, hence the authorities don’t want work to be disrupted by visitors making content at the site.
Several agencies are still doing work and checking the sinkhole site
The Kuala Lumpur Police Chief further asserted that the sinkhole would only be fixed and covered up after the various works by the relevant agencies were completed.
He added that the sinkhole is not the only gaping hole in the area as there’s also the 2nd hole and the long channel being checked by the agencies.

Rusdi then stressed that the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) don’t want the public, especially those intending to make TikTok videos to flock to the sinkhole site while works are carried out.
He asserted,
“While work is being done, we don’t want many people to flock there, to look around, to make TikTok videos.
“Hence, I ordered the Dang Wangi Police Station to place several personnel there,”
The Kuala Lumpur Police Chief said that this move is for the public’s own safety as the sinkhole is up to 10 metres deep and dangerous.
