Religious affairs minister Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar has requested the Federal Territories (FT) Mufti’s office to call in Raja Bomoh for the recent “ritual” he did at the sinkhole area in an attempt to find the victim.

In a statement posted by Na’im himself via his Facebook, the minister said that the mufti office will summon the “King of Shaman” soon because the latter has tarnished the image of Islam.

“Raja Bomoh will be advised about his wrongdoings, which can lead to an insult towards Islam.”

As for the counselling and advising, Na’im said he would leave that to the Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) to do their part.

Na’im pointed out that back in 2017, Raja Bomoh was charged under Section 7(a) of the Syariah Criminal Offenses Act (Federal Territories) 1997 with insulting Islam by the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) because his teachings were not in line with the Muslim faith.

Na’im also informed Muslims NOT to get influenced by any activities that are clearly against the teachings of Islam.

Earlier, Raja Bomoh made a shocking presence at the sinkhole in Masjid India and offered his service to look for the victim, who, at the time of writing, has been missing for 8 days.

The search mission is still in full swing, and we hope Vijaletchumi can be found soon to end the family’s torturous wait.
