The month of Ramadan has begun and since Monday (6 May), our Muslim brothers and sisters have started fasting. As such, it’s understandable that they might not be at the top of their game since they are low on energy without any food in their bodies during the day.

However, this uncle from Kuala Lumpur who visited a fast food chain in Labuan was not very sympathetic towards the staff on-duty that were fasting.

In a video posted today (8 May) on Facebook, it shows an elderly man getting mad at the staff and even scolding them because the service there was taking longer than usual, completely ignoring the fact that it’s the month of fasting and hence, it’s only normal that things would be moving a little slower. And we all know how the first week is the most challenging! Cut them some slack lah, uncle.

The video goes on for over 3 minutes, and throughout the recording, the uncle can be heard repeatedly saying,

“Fast food should take only 5 to 15 minutes only bah. Where is your manager? Your manager is stupid. I want to see your manager.”

“I’ve been waiting for 30 to 45 minutes for you to serve me. How come? Not good. Come, I want to talk to your manager.”

“I’m a visitor bah. I come from KL. I’m not a local from Labuan.”

“Call you manager now. I want to talk to him.”

Then, one of the staff hands him a business card, presumably the one with his manager’s details. The elderly man then says, “I respect you, brother.”

After that, he continues reiterating,

“Not good slow slow lah. I know, Labuan does not have a drive-thru. How come? No good. I’m visitor bah, from KL. How come?”

Netizens who saw the post were taken aback by the hangry man’s actions. Here’s what some of them said:

“Bro, don’t embarrass the people from KL lah,” said one netizen.

“Woi, you tak puasa (not fasting) ah?” questioned another.

“He must be still jet-lagged after his flight from KL to Labuan,” joked another FB user.

Few other netizens even made fun of his broken English and limited vocabulary. Here’s the video of the hangry man in Labuan:
