A video has been circulating on WhatsApp in regards to an incident depicting school students having severe reactions to Covid-19 vaccines.

This incident has proven to be false by Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM).

They took to their official Facebook page to debunk the case, explaining the video showcased in the WhatsApp message is from a gas poisoning incident which happened in 2019.

“KKM notes that there is a spread of a fake video stating that students had reactions after being vaccinated. For everyone’s information, the video is an old one related to the gas poisoning incident at a school in Pasir Gudang, Johor, in 2019,” they wrote.

The WhatsApp message that was proven to be inaccurate showcased a video of the incident with a message that read, “Look at this!! An incident that happened at a school which was hidden by KKM. Many are in severe conditions after taking the Covid-19 vaccines.“.

KKM also urged the public to avoid sharing the Whatsapp message.

“The public is asked not to spread this false information.”

You can check out the original video of the incident which took place back in 2019 here, as shared by the Isu Semasa Kerajaan Baru Facebook page.

Vaccinations are a serious issue so let’s try and ensure all videos and pictures we receive via WhatsApp is accurate and factual before we send them forward.
