Most people know of the name AstraZeneca and will immediately bring up blood clots that are said to be side effects of the vaccine. However, it is worth noting that experts have said that blood clots are extremely rare and the benefits of being vaccinated with AstraZeneca will greatly outweigh the cons.
With the first 200,000 opt-in shot for AstraZeneca being snapped up in less than four hours by the inhabitants of KL and Selangor, Minister Khairy Jamaluddin announced that there will be a second opt-in for people out of Klang Valley.
In a tweet, he said,
While much attention has been given to the opt-in AZ track under PICK, phase two is well underway with more seniors receiving their appointments. @JKJAVMY will be announcing details for another AZ opt-in window & new PPVAZ locations outside of Klang Valley next week. https://t.co/10ovTyw9GO

This is certainly good news for those who live out of Klang Valley and wanted to get their hands on the vaccines.
In another report by Berita Harian, Health Minister Dr Adham Baba has said that one million doses of AstraZeneca will be reaching us later this month. Those who have gotten their first jab will take their second jab three months later. “Based on the data given to us from the vaccine suppliers, AZ vaccines are said to have an effectiveness of 97%.”
