Dedicating themselves to serving the public, firemen are often underappreciated in many societies even though they put their safety on the line day in and day out, for people they don’t know. This dedication is part of the reason why individuals look to them as real-life superheroes.

Such an instance was recently caught by a Malaysian fireman named Ajim somewhere in Kuala Lumpur, where one of his colleagues and friends helped to release a stranded dog who was caught on a mesh gate.

In a clip posted to his account @ajim5666, Ajim captured the moment he and his colleague came across the dog sitting calmly at the gate. Petting its head gently, the firefighter established a quick yet important sense of trust with the dog before trying to release him from the gate.

Almost instantly, the firefighter got to work on the mesh to free the poor pup, who had been sitting there helpless for an undisclosed period of time. After a diligent amount of effort, the firefighter manages to release the dog within 15 seconds, before petting it calmly, ensuring its safety.

After that, the firefighter attempted to carry the dog away to safety before it struggled for a quick second, gesturing for him to let it be. Respecting its wishes, the abang bomba leaves the dog as it is.

“Our hero this time,” wrote Ajim in reference to his friend and colleague.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Ajim stated that their fire station had received a call from the house owner of the home where the dog was located. Being a Muslim family, they had called the firefighters to help release the animal, which had been stuck at their gate for a number of hours.

“The dog was stuck on the gate because its chain got snagged on the barbed wire gate of the owner’s house. So we also came over to help release it,” he said to WORLD OF BUZZ.

Receiving immense praise for going above and beyond his duties, many Malaysians applauded the firefighter for helping a dog in need, who may not have received any aid if not for him.

Thank you abang bomba, only God will repay your goodness to all of you,” wrote one user.
