Khairul Aming, the local celebrity chef is not secretive about his recipes but he has never bragged about his wealth and success online, despite being a millionaire.
In case you are not aware, despite his financial status, Khairul Aming has been using Perodua Bezza for years. With his income, he could’ve easily gotten himself luxury cars but that didn’t happen, and he has a solid reason for it. In his recent live video, Khairul revealed why he decided not to get himself luxury items despite knowing he could afford them.
“I just want to stay moderate. I’ve been in the situation where I barely earned enough.”
Khairul also said that he wants to sleep better without being burdened by commitments, and acknowledged that most of the people are hoping to have big salaries. However, earning more does that mean you have to have more commitments.
“It’s not right to add more expenses if we have big income.”
He added, “We will go back to the phase where we can’t sleep peacefully because money will never be enough.”
The founder of Sambal Nyet admitted that despite his current income and wealth, he has never thought of upgrading his lifestyle because he already has a “safety net” of savings, which allows him to live peacefully.
“I prefer a quiet life without the burden of commitment and debt.”
Khairul gave an example using a Lamborghini, saying that he has to pay thousands of ringgits every month for the loan itself.
“Assuming I have an income of RM1 million and the Lamborghini costs me RM700,000. My income is not even enough to cover the loan for the car I just bought.”
