A viral video has been circulating on social media recently, showing the aftermath of a road accident in Penang involving at least 7 cars.

The video, shared by @extrajossactive01 has been viewed over 1.5 million times on TikTok and garnered over 53,100 likes as of the time of writing.

A road accident in Penang involving 7 cars rear-ending each other

At the start of the video, which was recorded from inside a vehicle on Merdeka Day (31 August), a silver Perodua MyVi can be seen stopping in the middle lane of the road with a significant dent on its rear end.

The vehicle, from which the video was being recorded, then started to move forward, revealing several other cars which crashed into each other as a result of the road accident.

These include a black BMW, a red Perodua Axia, a grey Perodua MyVi, a black Mercedes-Benz and a red Perodua MyVi.

Moreover, at the very front of the crash was another grey Perodua MyVi, though it’s unknown whether the car was also part of the accident.

Several individuals can be seen standing on the road and inspecting the vehicles, believed to be the drivers of the crashed vehicles.

Besides that, a person wearing a green vest can also be spotted, presumably to offer towing services to the vehicle owners.

Malaysians react to the viral road accident

In the comments, Malaysians give their 2 cents on the matter, with many pointing out that road accidents like this are caused by vehicles driving too close to each other, causing them to crash into one another as there’s not enough time and space to do an emergency brake.

One commenter asserted that as the cars rear-ended one another, the driver at the very back, in this instance, the silver MyVi, is usually the individual who has to bear the most liability.

Meanwhile, several commenters were also amused by the person in the green vest, who would always be the first on the scene when there was a road accident.

Besides that, one commenter said that these drivers had it coming for always driving too closely to the vehicles in front of them.
