In a severely tragic turn of events, a police officer who was on duty at a Movement Control Order roadblock collapsed, before passing away later on in hospital, according to The Star. The deceased, Mohd Masri Maguni, was a police corporal attached to the Kepala Batas police station. At the time, he was assigned to work on a road block at Alor Setar, as per MCO requirements.

It was said that the deceased suddenly collapsed while manning the road block and was immediately rushed to hospital. Unfortunately, despite three days of intensive care, he passed away yesterday (24th March 2020).

“He died due to high blood pressure,” said ACP Mohd Rozi.

As for whether the deceased contracted Covid-19 during his duties, ACP Mohd Rozi has rubbished all such claims.

We extend our condolences to the family of the deceased during this difficult time, and would like to remind all Malaysians to be grateful to our frontline authorities who have been making the ultimate sacrifices to ensure our safety during this time.
