Several districts in Selangor were placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) on 3 July and the order was set to end today (16 July). The National Security Council chaired by Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, announced via a statement today that the EMCO placed in 34 administrative districts in Selangor will not be extended and will end as per schedule today (16 July).
While no further information was given, Malaysians are left to assume that Selangor will still be placed under the Movement Control Order and Phase One of the National Recovery Plan.
The statement also mentioned that the government has improved enforcement on factories and business premises following an increase of these premises violating necessary SOPs.
Meanwhile, Selangor records 5,512 Covid-19 cases of the 12,541 cases reported in the country today (16 July).
