The Road Transport Department (JPJ) Melaka has seized a luxury BMW sedan after it was found to be in serious violation of road regulations during a routine enforcement operation.
According to JPJ Melaka, inspections revealed that the vehicle was displaying a registration number belonging to a Modenas Kriss motorcycle. Further checks determined that the luxury vehicle was not legally registered with the relevant authorities, constituting multiple breaches of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Enforcement officers immediately seized the vehicle for further investigation. Authorities confirmed that appropriate action will be taken in accordance with existing laws, stressing that such offences are viewed seriously due to their implications for road safety and regulatory compliance.
Everyone is equal before the law
The vehicle’s owner is believed to be an individual holding VVIP status. However, JPJ Melaka maintained that no one is above the law and that enforcement actions are carried out impartially, regardless of rank, position, or social standing.

The department reiterated this stance in an official statement shared on Facebook, noting that strict measures will be imposed on anyone found violating road transport regulations.
In the post, JPJ aptly dubbed the BMW as being “masked as a Kriss motorcycle.”
JPJ also announced that it will continue to intensify enforcement operations across the state to ensure all vehicles on the road are properly registered and compliant with legal requirements.
The department emphasised that adherence to road laws is crucial for maintaining order, accountability, and the safety of all road users.
