Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia (JPJ) has announced that the agency will be replacing important documents such as Malaysian Driving License (LLM), Motor Vehicle License (LKM) and Temporary Ownership Certificate (VOC) for free, for flood victims nationwide.

According to a statement posted on JPJ’s official Facebook page, quoted by BERNAMA, the agency’s touchpoint initiative is specifically for all flood victims in the affected localities who have suffered damage or lost the documents. The statement elaborated,

“Owners need to make a police report on the loss or damage of documents and bring the damaged documents in person to get a replacement at any JPJ counter office. For those who have lost the original documents, they need to bring a copy of the police report or Disaster Victim Registration Form issued by the District Office or the Social Welfare Department (JKM) as evidence.”

JPJ informed that it will also provide flexibility in terms of compliance monitoring and enforcement, for commercial or private vehicles involved in rescue operations as well as bringing supplies for flood victims, until the disaster is fully controlled. According to JPJ, the action is in line with the aspirations of the Malaysian Family which also encourages the department to always be ready to provide assistance in the form of manpower and assets to the field.
