First it was KFC, then McDonald’s and now Milo. The journalists tasked with covering news in front of the Royal Palace were in for a treat this morning when a large Milo truck was spotted outside the palace gates. Even though the country is currently experiencing political uncertainty, our journalists are being well taken care of by the Royal Palace officials and various other outlets.
For the past couple of days, there were major shifts happening in the Malaysian government. These journalists were the ones who were spending countless hours under the extremely hot weather to provide regular updates regarding the latest happenings at the Royal Palace, from the resignation of Tun Dr to the disbanding of the cabinet. Every day Malaysians wake up to more and more surprises.
Thanks to these journalists, we are able to receive the latest news in the nick of time. The Royal Palace had a Milo truck brought in specifically for these hard-working journalists. Prior to this, our Agong had personally handed out McDonald’s to the journalists who were working around the clock when the news of Tun Dr Mahathir’s resignation broke.
The term “#Milo” was trending earlier today on Twitter with Netizens expressing mostly positive and funny opinions. Some Malaysians wished that they were in the shoes of the journalists so that they could get their share of the free food, too! Other users expressed their surprise and thanked the Royal Palace because the well-being of the journalists is taken care of.
Nestle Malaysia wasn’t done yet, as they also sent their team to give out Kit-Kat ice creams at Istana Negara!
Given how hot it was today, we can only imagine these reporters were super happy to receive ice-cold treats!
