A 19-year-old woman in Kulai, Johor, decided to cut off all ties with her father after debt collectors “paid a visit” to their house by splashing red paint.
The woman revealed that she had lost contact with her father since April after the latter stole her mother’s belongings and fled to KL.
The man, who was working in Singapore, left home without a notice, but his debts and the consequences were “left” at home for the family to deal with. According to the daughter, Ye En Tong (transliteration), she and her mother were informed about the massive debts by the debt collectors.

The debts amount to nearly RM50,000, but the family believes there’s more
“The known debts include SGD12,000 (approximately RM39,700), and SGD3,000 (RM9,900), but we don’t know how much more there is.”
En Tong also said that she found out about another red paint attack outside her house on Sunday morning (July 6). Earlier, the family had paid SGD5,000 (approximately RM17,500) on behalf of her father, but the debt collectors did not stop, and said there was another debt.
With the pressure and constant intimidation, En Tong and her mother had reached their limits. They chose to publicly cut off ties with the man and urged the violence and threats against the innocent to stop.

For illustration purposes only
“We solemnly declare that all debts have nothing to do with us. If we are harassed again in the future, we will take legal actions.”
En Tong also said a police report about the matter was lodged at the Kulai Police Station, and clarified that her father’s whereabouts are unknown to the family, reported China Press.
