5 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates were stranded and unable to travel to their examination hall due to flooding in Kampung Bedal, Kelantan.

Thankfully, they managed to reach their examination hall just in time thanks to the assistance of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) in Kuala Krai.

Bomba to the rescue!

The Kuala Krai Today Facebook page shared how the firefighters had transported the students via a truck and successfully transported them to attend their examinations that started at 8 AM this morning (26 November).

They wrote, “The quick action and commitment of the rescue team ensured that the students were able to continue their academic crusade despite facing emergency situations and bad weather.”

The students were initially left behind

According to a report by Sinar Harian, Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Senior Fire Superintendent Nik Afsham Nik Pa shared that the 5 students were initially left behind when the floods on the main road in Kampung Bedal had risen to about 0.7 metres due to the continuous heavy rain.

“I was informed that many SPM candidates were stranded and had safely reached the examination centre earlier. These 5 candidates were among those who did not make it because the water level rose quickly,” he said.

The students were ultimately transported by truck, with the assistance of 5 firefighters on duty.
