It’s been a crazy morning with Malaysians currently being unsure of the future of the country. Although unconfirmed, the current rumour seems to be that a new coalition will be taking over the government which excludes DAP (Democratic Action Party) and several others. This move seems like an attempt to form a backdoor government which has invited widespread criticism.
Patriot president Brig Jen (Rtd) Datuk Mohamed Arshad Raji is one of them and he said that the group was disgusted with the current political state of the country. Persatuan Patriot Kebangsaan is an NGO founded by military and police veterans who aim to unite Malaysians in harmony.
He told Malay Mail that the Patriot views this as an unholy attempt to form a backdoor government as a betrayal of the people’s mandate and also they will not support any government formed that included UMNO and PAS.
“If it is true that the PH government has collapsed, like any mature democracy, then the rightful thing is to dissolve parliament so that coalition parties can seek a new mandate from the people.”
As of now, there hasn’t been any official news about the coalition as no government official or leader has come forward to give confirmation. PKR President is scheduled to meet the Yang diPertuan Agong at today and maybe we might finally get some information on what’s about to happen in the country.
Malaysians are currently in a state of confusion and disappointment yet all we can do now is just wait. Hopefully, vital information will soon be released for our relief (or not?).
