What if all you wanted was a proper “getting to know each other” session, but your date ended up bringing her entire family?
A Malaysian man recently took to his social media and shared what prompted him to stop seeing the woman he dated, after he had to spend more than he expected on a date.

A Malaysian man was shocked when his date brought her entire family along
In his viral Threads post, the man claimed that his date brought along her mother and siblings, and ended up having to pay for everyone’s meals.
“They ordered something that cost RM50 a plate. I unexpectedly spent over RM300 for the night.”
The meal, however, was not the only part he had to pay for. Shockingly, he also had to fork out money for the woman’s mother and siblings, who took the opportunity to go shopping.
In his post, the man acknowledged that he understood the family’s presence was to “avoid sins and maksiat (immoral activities)”, but he was baffled that the date night exceeded his budget.
“I’m not a rich man’s son. How am I supposed to get the money?”

To avoid further complications, the man revealed that he had stopped seeing the woman, and assured the social media users that he did not ask for the money back, which he considered “a donation” to the family.
However, he had a reminder to the ladies out there who are still getting to know their potential partners:
“I hope that other women will not take other men for granted. We have other responsibilities and commitments too.”
“You’re not a banker!”
Social media users agreed with the man who decided that it was good for him to stop seeing the woman, as many of them were not on board with what his date did.

“As a woman, you better run. Or else, you would have to be the family’s banker.”
“This is too much. To both genders, do not do this to others. She was not even your responsibility.”

Another netizen pointed out that he would have left them immediately, unless he took the initiative to invite the family out.
“I wouldn’t have done that even if I were rich. There would be requests to sponsor the family’s wedding, birthdays, or anniversaries.”
What was your most bizarre experience while on a date?
