Never assume in sensitive situations like these!
It’s 2021, guys. It’s completely up to a woman to decide the age she wants to get married, if she wants to get married at all, and the age she wants to have kids or…if she wants to have kids at all. What’s not okay is insensitively asking these questions to a woman simply because it’s a societal standard.
Everyone knows international superstar and all-around amazing person, Yuna. A few hours ago, Yuna deleted a picture from her Instagram and re-uploaded it with a meaningful caption. In her original post, Yuna posted a picture of her in a brown top and Instagram users immediately jumped to conclusion that Yuna was pregnant.
Yuna then reuploaded the picture clarifying that she was not pregnant and that it was just her “lunch tummy”.
“Maybe avoid leaving comments like “omg, congrats!” without any confirmation on someone’s photos.”
She also added that it might be a sensitive issue for those who are trying, those who are not in a position to have a baby, or those who are still finding stability before bringing a human into the world.
Yuna who has been married to commercial ad director, Adam Sinclair since 2018, also wished Ramadan Kareem to her followers with a message of requesting that we all be better people moving forward.
Let this be a reminder to the rest of us that celebrities are also humans and deserve compassion and discretion. Before leaving a comment on anyone’s social media and remember, if you have nothing nice to say, just don’t say anything!
