American YouTuber IShowSpeed once caught Malaysians’ attention when he visited the country in 2024, especially when he paid extra for a Ramly Burger in Kuala Lumpur just because he loved it so much.
According to a recent live stream, the YouTuber said he would return to Malaysia, though no specific dates were mentioned.

A highly anticipated return
The YouTuber, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr, revealed that he is planning to return to Malaysia, much to the excitement of his large global fanbase.
The 21‑year‑old content creator first visited Malaysia during a Southeast Asia tour in 2024, where his appearance drew huge crowds and went viral across social media. During that trip, he was mobbed by fans at popular spots such as Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. He tried local foods like durian and fried rice, livestreaming much of the experience to millions of viewers online.

The planned return signals a renewed opportunity for local fans in Malaysia to meet the influencer in person and experience a new chapter of his travels, although details of his itinerary and scheduled appearances in Malaysia have yet to be confirmed.
Netizens trust Khairul Aming to show Darren the Malaysian hospitality

As the live stream circulated, Malaysian social media users shared what they hoped to see from Darren’s possible second visit to Malaysia: a proper exposure to the country’s hospitality and culture. Netizens already had a figure in mind for who could fill the role to show Darren around:
Celebrity chef Khairul Aming, the mastermind behind Sambal Nyet and Rembayung.

“Dear Khairul Aming, please be Darren’s tour guide if he comes to Malaysia. I love seeing you entertaining the New Zealand Prime Minister during his visit in 2024.”

Apart from Khairul Aming, another netizen suggested Sofyank, a Malaysian visual effects artist, to welcome Darren during his second Malaysia trip.
“His last trip was a letdown, especially since it focused too much on drift and rempit. When he was in Indonesia, he was properly exposed to their culture.”

“I think the ideal figure to show Darren around is someone serious in his content, but at the same time, they have to share the same energy.”
