The roads in Malaysia are notorious for being dangerous for pedestrians, especially during and after the rain. With fast cars and motorbikes going in and out of their lanes, walking at the side of the road can sometimes feel like a death sentence.
Hence, in certain areas, specific pedestrian walkways are provided to ensure the safety of those who need to walk to their destinations.
But in a recent tweet by Haider, the reality couldn’t be further from the truth.
Dah terang2 sign says pedestrian walkway, still ada yg mentality 3rd class.. guna motor atas tu. Kdg2 ada yg siap hon kat org berjalan kaki tu suruh ketepi ??♂️ pic.twitter.com/k2g7fpuPNi

He tweeted,
“The sign clearly shows that it is a pedestrian walkway, but some people still have a 3rd class mentality. They ride their bikes on the walkaway and even honk at pedestrians to ask them to move aside.”
The tweet has prompted netizens to chime in on the issue.
We have to remember that roads were meant to be shared by everyone, not just ourselves. We need to work together to make sure selfish people do not get their way.
If not, we will always be stuck living in these kinds of situations which prove to be very dangerous to all road users.
