Safety is an essential part of our lives. In everything that we do, we ensure that safety is our top priority. For example, wearing a seat belt or helmet.
So of course when our beloved Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak put on a safety helmet weirdly, the internet went crazy.
On December 5, Najib attended the launch of Petronas’ Integrated Pengerang Complex (PIPC) in Johor.

Our one true leader toured around the USD27 billion (RM120 billion) project by foot and helicopter. And then he officiated the installation ceremony of the project which is also part of the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP).
Apparently, this super huge structure is projected to help the oil and gas industry in Malaysia to progress tremendously. Hence, also boosting the economy of Malaysia.
After his visit to the expensive site, our wonderful prime minister posted a picture and description onto his Facebook page. He said,
“With the fellow workers at PIPC. I also officiate the installation of the tallest and heaviest propylene fractionator in Malaysia, as heave as an Airbus!”
“This Pengerang Project is one of the main contributor towards realizing the dream of Malaysia’s economy achieving RM2 trillion.”

However, what is alarming every Malaysian is the fact that our dearest Najib seems to be wearing his safety helmet wrongly!
A Facebook page called Safety Gear wanted to remind everyone that having our Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on correctly is essential and made a public service announcement (PSA) message onto Najib’s photo.
It said, “Whoever you are, PPE must be worn correctly.”
You see, when you wear a safety helmet, you have to put the strap under your chin and tighten it. Why did no one bother to inform him that? Did they want something bad to happen to our beloved leader? :'(
But there were obviously several safety officers with Najib during his tour. Netizens wondered why didn’t they say anything to our PM? Omg, what if something were to happen to him?!
“The red helmet ones are all safety officers. How come never advise him?”
Other netizens as always decided to joke about any and every issue.
“It seems like a forehead strap.”
“Is his head too big for the helmet?”
Although jokes may be made to lighten situations, safety is something we definitely should not take lightly.
Hopefully after this incident, everyone will take note on wearing safety gears properly – especially our esteemed prime minister, Najib.
