According to Communications and Multimedia Minister Annuar Musa, the ministry will announce steps that will be implemented to achieve the aspiration of internet access as a human right.
On 11 September, he shared a Twitter posting saying that, “As I have emphasized before, internet and connectivity are human rights, the next steps of KKMM will be leading towards this aspiration. I will announce something very soon”.
Previously, Annuar Musa said that the Communications and Multimedia Ministry (KKMM) will be more proactive and will contribute more to the benefits of Keluarga Malaysia. He also reinforced that internet facilities must be considered human rights just like other basic necessities.
The ministry also guarantees that it will be the voice of the government and a ministry that is responsive and proactive towards the needs of the people.
“KKMM will not only be the voice of the government but feel the heart of every citizen, in line with the Keluarga Malaysia concept that connects Putrajaya with people all around the country, even in the most remote villages,” he said, according to Astro Awani.
Hopefully in the near future, there will be more benefits provided to the people, especially those with little to no access to an internet connection so that the new normal such as online learning can be done efficiently and effectively for everyone.
