If you’re a social media addict butterfly, chances are you’re always switching between your two favourite apps, Instagram and Snapchat, to share your daily life stories because one has a cool ‘boomerang’ effect plus the fact that everyone can tune in to your adventure, while the other has fun face filters that the former lacks.
But as of today, our prayers have been answered because Instagram just rolled out their version of face filters in the camera, allowing you to elevate your ordinary selfies to something a lot more fun and entertaining for your followers to watch! And yes, that means no more making tough decisions between the two apps, yay!

Here, let us sum up the all the latest functions being introduced this round:
1. Eight new face filters
The initial set of Instagram’s Snapchat-like feature will include eight type of face filters (some even work with a friend!), ranging from cool, crystalised crowns and cute bunny ears to pretty flower garlands and geeky glasses while having algebra equations hovering above your head.
To access them, simply tap on the new face icon located on the bottom right corner when you turn on the camera. Tip: they work on Boomerang too!

2. Rewind format
There’s also a ‘Rewind’ feature, next to the ‘Boomerang’ and ‘Hands-Free’ options, so you can reverse the videos you take for a new spin to your daily stories. We’re already thinking of making gravity-defying GIFs.

3. Hashtag stickers
And now, your #hashtags can be hyperlinked in your stories too, just like the mentions, meaning anyone can tap on the hashtag sticker to explore all related posts.

4. Eraser brush
Lastly, there’s a new eraser function when you use the drawing tool that’ll allow you to either erase stuff that you’ve drawn, or create interesting images by filling the entire screen with colour and then revealing parts of the photo. Genius!
