Malaysians would often donate to beggars, especially if the beggar is differently-abled or elderly.
And with that being said, how much can a beggar earn in a day?
Malaysian influencer, Debby Ong, took to her Facebook page to showcase how she had donated RM2 to an elderly beggar at the restaurant she was dining at in Johor, only to later discover him counting a HUGE wad of cash.
She wrote, “Today (May 15) in Batu Pahat, I was having breakfast at an old restaurant. There was an elderly uncle who had difficulty walking, he walked over very slowly and extended his hand to us. Overwhelmed with sympathy, I took out the only 2 RM1s and gave it to him.”
After receiving RM2 from her, the uncle then went around to the rest of the tables at the eatery.
About 30 minutes later, after completing his go around the restaurant, the uncle then decided to sit down and count how much he had collected.
Observing this, Debby realised that the uncle had collected a HUGE wad of cash!
“Half an hour later, the uncle finally ran through the whole place. I was stunned the moment he sat down,” she added.
The uncle appeared to have a staggering amount of RM1s and RM5s, while also receiving some RM10s, an RM20 and even RM50s. After taking a quick look at his collection, he then quickly put the wad of money back into his pocket.
