Most engaged couples are always asked the same thing when they freshly reform their status from a dating couple to a soon-to-be-married item: How did he or she propose? Well, get ready to witness THE proposal of all proposals when one man stole the show with a surprise for his now-fiancée.
Indonesian content creator Tantri Maulidya recently shared a moment to her TikTok account @tataan.n, showing just the extent of her boyfriend’s efforts in organising a proposal for his beloved at an aquarium-themed restaurant in the Jakarta Aquarium and Safari.
In the brief yet impactful clip, the couple can be seen sitting at a table with the aquarium behind them. Shortly after, a diver slowly swims towards the couple while holding a cylindrical item. Using rubber suction cups, the diver sticks the object on the glass pane facing the duo.
Slowly unrolling the piece, the cylindrical item is soon revealed to be a poster with a very special message written across, “Tantri Maulidya, will you marry me?”
Not seconds later does Tantri’s partner pull out a tiny box from his bag, which contains a ring, and asks her if she would marry him.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Tantri stated that she had expected a surprise from her partner, as he had asked her out to explore the aquarium and to have dinner afterwards. However, after they took their seats at the restaurant, she noticed that he looked a bit anxious, not knowing that he would propose just moments later.
“I was so surprised and emotional when he proposed! I was happy, I was startled, knowing that I was proposed to by a man who went through so much effort to express just how much he loves me. He made me feel so at ease,” said Tantri to WORLD OF BUZZ.
Garnering a massive response online, many people praised Tantri’s fiancé, saying that he must really love her to organise such a surprise.
“I know how much this costs, and if your man does all of this for you; take you out, organise the dinner, and propose to you, congratulations. You’re celebrated, I’m so happy for you sister!” wrote one user.
On the other hand, some couldn’t help but jest at the situation light-heartedly, adding their own jokes and hoping that their future significant other would plan something similar to this as well.
“If you can look at the back, I’m drowning in the water,” comedically penned one user.
