A vendor in Malacca allegedly charged a customer a whopping RM10 for just a bottle of water and a canned drink.
A circulating Facebook post dated 19 September claimed that the customer double-checked the price with the vendor, who insisted that both beverages cost RM10.
Despite feeling baffled, the customer chose to purchase the drinks “out of thirst.” Following the post’s circulation on social media, netizens urged the relevant authorities to visit the vendor and investigate the pricing of the items sold.

The exact location was not disclosed, but it is believed to be one of the tourist hotspots in the state.
“Feeling thirsty”
It didn’t take long for the state’s Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) to respond sarcastically to the matter via a Facebook post.
In its brief response, Malacca KPDN playfully said they were “feeling thirsty,” hinting at a possible visit to the location after the RM10 drinks went viral.
“The purple ship looks beautiful. I’m feeling thirsty, and I heard there’s something viral here,” KPDN said in its statement posted last night (20 September).

However, KPDN has yet to provide further updates on the matter.
Vendors in tourist spots are known to hike up prices, especially during the holiday season. Regardless, what do you think of paying RM10 for a bottle of water and a canned drink?
