Malaysian filmmaker Dr Ahmad Idham recently took to social media to vent his frustration regarding illegal drivers double-parking, obstructing traffic, and causing severe congestion in an industrial area in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya.
In a post on Threads, Ahmad claimed that an ongoing sale had drawn large crowds, resulting in heavy traffic in the vicinity. He also thanked officers from the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) for taking prompt action by issuing summonses to illegally parked vehicles.

Targeting “low mentality” drivers
Ahmad, who operates a kindergarten nearby, mentioned he was unsure if a specific event was taking place but stressed that his criticism was aimed at individuals with a “low mentality” who inconvenienced others.
“I was merely calling out the illegal parkers,” he stated.
The building shown in Ahmad’s photo belongs to Malaysian entrepreneur Datuk’ Seri Aliff Syukri and houses the brand D’Herbs. This led some social media users to believe Ahmad was indirectly blaming Aliff for the congestion. Ahmad later denied this, clarifying that his grievances were with the vehicle owners rather than any specific building or organisation.
“They didn’t only block other cars, but also the entrance to my kindergarten,” Ahmad clarified.
He added that, in his view, the location was unsuitable for hosting sales that attract such large crowds.

Meanwhile, Aliff Syukri’s wife, Datin Seri Shahida, responded by asking Ahmad not to describe her business premises as “uncivilised.” She noted that the business had been operating there since 2015 and explained that the area is officially designated as an industrial zone.
“It didn’t happen for a day or two,” she remarked, defending their long-term presence in the area.
A public apology and clarification
In a TikTok video posted yesterday (8 March), Ahmad stated that his previous comments were not intended to offend anyone.
“Personally, if the context of the statement is read carefully, it was not directed at any specific individual or company. However, if anyone has misunderstood what I wrote, I would like to apologise as that was not my intention,” he said.
The Impak Maksima director explained that his statement was intended to raise awareness among road users.
“My real intention came from a sense of frustration and disappointment that even in 2026, we are still dealing with the attitude of certain drivers or vehicle owners who are selfish.
“We are faced with drivers who do not understand the law and who casually block public access at certain premises,” he stated.

He added that the situation is particularly worrying because a special education school he operates in the area has also been affected.
“Yet there are people who, without any sense of guilt, block the access route not just for a day or two, but for months,” he concluded.
