With his mother right outside the gate, the son’s spirit will surely soar while he’s doing his exam!
Mastura Mohamed, 51, was seen waiting outside her son’s school at Kuala Nerus, Terengganu while he was taking his SPM examination yesterday (22 February) morning. She realises that even though she can’t actually meet him, Mastura insists on standing there lending support to her son.
Sinar Harian reported that Mastura who works as an administrative assistant hasn’t met her son in a month due to Covid-19 SOPs that made sure students who live in hostels to remain there.
“Just last night, I managed to talk to him when he borrowed his friend’s phone and asked my blessings for his exams. That’s when I could talk to him even if it was for a short period.”
Mastura added that she came early in the morning hoping to catch a glimpse of her son but alas, he had already entered the examination hall when she came. According to the mother, her son, Adib, had been previously quarantined when he came in close contact with a Covid-19 positive patient but thankfully, he tested negative.
On 22 February, 401,105 students took their SPM examination under new norms while the Covid-19 cases are still fluctuating. To ensure the safety of these students, 3,310 SPM examination centres nationwide were implemented in accordance with the guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the National Security Council (MKN) and the Ministry of Health (MOH), including the disinfection process of the examination hall.
