Grieving is never an easy process. Sometimes, it still feels like it was just yesterday when our loved ones left us forever. Despite her mother’s absence, a Malaysian woman recently decided to celebrate her late mother’s birthday.

And for that, she brought a birthday cake to her mother’s grave.

In her Xiao Hong Shu (RED) post @小牛油果, the woman visited her mother’s grave with her husband, and they brought along a birthday cake, as well as some snacks as part of the “birthday celebration.” She sang the birthday song for her deceased mother before blowing the candle on the cake.

“Happy birthday, mum. I still want to be your daughter in the next life.”

小牛油果 also shared some reels of her mother celebrating her birthday in the past years, as well as the time spent together before her demise.

She celebrated her mum’s birthday on March 2 and despite her smile, the heartbreak will always be there, especially when she is still grieving the woman who gave birth to her.

In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, 小牛油果 said that her mother passed away due to cancer.

“9 more days (March 19), it will be her 1st death anniversary.”

She also told WORLD OF BUZZ that all family members had a good relationship with the mother.

“We have always maintained a good relationship, and everyone loves her a lot.”

It’s always terrifying to even imagine and acknowledge that one day, everyone close to us is bound to leave forever, including our parents. While there is nothing we can do to avoid the inevitable death, the best thing we can do is to cherish the time spent together.
