Dua Lipa’s “Radical Optimism Asia Tour” in Kuala Lumpur on November 23 and 24 was a hit, with fans packing the concert venue.
While everyone was enjoying the concert, a user named DoggySmile69 shared his experience on Reddit about how he got injured after getting struck by a pyrotechnic metal tube during the concert.
“They paid my medical bills and nothing more right now”
According to the post, DoggySmile69 shared how he got hit in the head by a pyrotechnic metal tube at Dua Lipa’s concert in Malaysia on November 24.
The post also mentioned that after being hit, the concert authorities allegedly said they’d only cover his medical bills, and nothing more at the moment.
The caption of the post reads,
“I got hit in the head by a pyrotechnic metal tube at Dua Lipa’s concert in Malaysia today. The concert authorities said they will only cover the medical bills.”
“I realised there was blood on my head”
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, DoggySmile69 shared how he bought tickets to get as close to the stage as possible, standing near a pyrotechnic cannon that was shooting confetti into the air.
About 15 minutes in, he suddenly felt a heavy blow to his head. He turned around and saw a large tube, about 50cm to 60cm long, and realised something sticky on his head which he later discovered was his own blood.
“My wife saw it and immediately called the security for help. By then, my head wouldn’t stop bleeding, and it kept dripping all the way until we got to the ambulance backstage. They took me and another woman, who was also injured by the metal tube after it ricocheted from my head, to the hospital,” he explained.
“Some guys showed up and paid for my medical bills”
DoggySmile69 went on to explain that after reaching the hospital, he had to undergo a CT scan, receive a tetanus shot, and get 7 stitches for his injuries.
“Some guys (allegedly the concert authorities) showed up later and paid my medical bills. I showed them my Reddit post, and they asked me to take it down, but I refused. I got their contact numbers, and they offered to drive me back to my hotel, but I declined and took a taxi instead.”
He then revealed that the concert authorities had allegedly offered compensation to the other woman who was injured as well, in the form of a sum of money.
He clarified that his decision to post online wasn’t to threaten anyone but to seek fair compensation, considering how the incident had put his life at risk.
DoggySmile69 has also decided to visit the Russian embassy today to figure out his next steps. Stay tuned for more updates.
