Let’s give it up for this hero right here!

A teacher recently jumped into a ditch right in front of his house at the Jalan Parit Ya’ani-Jalan Sri Bengkel junction to save a father and his three children in Johor today (22 November).

The teacher, known as Cikgu Kamarul, was in his Youth Cadet Corp (KRS) uniform, getting ready to head to school at SMK Dato’ Seth Yong Peng at around 7am when the incident occurred.

Photos of Cikgu Kamarul drenched in his uniform made their way to Facebook just after the incident took place.

Batu Pahat district police deputy chief Supt Razali Mohd Tahir said that the incident happened due to the victim losing control of his Proton Persona.

As reported by Malay Mail, Razali said the victim, Muhammad Yahood, 48, was driving his 10-year-old and 11-year-old to school, accompanied by his one-year-old child. However, he had lost control of his car and ended in a drain.

The father who was driving, however, sadly died while receiving treatment. Meanwhile, his three children managed to escape with minor injuries.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the deceased and kudos to the brave teacher for his heroic deed.
