Here’s the List of Selangor Areas That’ll Experience Water Disruption for 72 Hours From Oct 9

Selangorians, brace yourselves for this difficult situation that is coming your way. 

Syabas (Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd) just announced that four districts – Petaling, Hulu Langat, Sepang and Kuala Langat – across Selangor will be experiencing some water disruption for 72 hours starting from 9 to 11 October 2018. The water supply disruption will affect 476 areas and 342,000 account holders in the districts mentioned above.

According to The Star, Syabas head of distribution Kelvin Siew said that the water disruption is due to some equipment replacement works at the Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant (WTP). He explained that the replacement works will start at 9am and is expected to go on for 12 hours.

Therefore, the water disruption is predicted to last between 35 hours and 72 hours. Following that, the water supply is expected to be restored completely on 12 October 2018. Yas!

In light of this matter, the public is advised to store water to prepare for the 72 hours of water supply disruption. Liew was quoted as saying,

“There will be 80 static tanks placed in critical areas like schools, mosques as well as apartments and flats. Our seven local service centres will operate 24 hours beginning 9 October 2018 to assist with enquiries and relief water supply.”

Besides service centres, Syabas will send 62 water tankers to the affected area and 10 jumbo tankers will be placed in designated locations. In addition to that, around 20,000 five-litre drinking water bottles will also be given out during the water supply disruption. Don’t forget to utilise these aids given by Syabas!
