Health experts advised public members to postpone their ‘balik kampung’ as numbers are still registering four digits daily.
According to a health expert from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Prof Madya Dr. Malina Osman, the current recommendation for inter-state travel should be more focused on the economic sector.
She added that the current Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) is different from last June, where the numbers are still very high.
“In my opinion, the public should postpone from going back to their hometowns and only go back if there are emergency cases.”
“In cases where travel is needed, we should limit our time of travel, and the time we spend at home with SOP observed at all times.”
“Let’s avoid situations where we do not observe the SOP.”
Dr. Malina also added that members of the public should not eat out that often.
“As individuals, we should make the best decisions, and even though the government has allowed inter-state travel, we have to take precautions and break the Covid-19 chain.”
Let’s try and not ease our vigilance in breaking the Covid-19 chain, shall we?
