The don’t shop, adopt a pet movement has been going strong for years as animal lovers everywhere are doing their level best to ensure doggies and kitties in animal shelters have a higher chance of finding a forever home.

This movement is so important that even the animals in these shelters are putting in an effort to attract humans to adopt them from animal rescues.

For example, one black Labrador in Louisiana no-kill shelter has been putting his best smile forward every time a potential adopter walks by.

As according to the Daily Mail, the charming pup always flashes a goofy smile at anyone who stops at his kennel to talk to him, in hopes of convincing them to pick him over the other dogs.

He apparently smiles even harder when he’s called a ‘good boy’ by potential adopters.

Shelter volunteer Sarah Walton added, “It’s whenever you’re talking really sweetly to him, he gives this smile like he wants something. It’s like he’s telling you, ‘come pet me, come love me.'”

The little black Lab is no different from any other dog or cat at animal shelters across the globe. They are all filled with unconditional love and eager for a loving home.

Hence, always remember, don’t shop. Adopt a furry best friend.
