Remember when Zara released a sarong-like skirt and netizens went berserk? Well, you better be prepared for this new fashion accessory by a giant designer brand that we’re about to tell ya because it will definitely blow your mind!
According to a report by Vice, Gucci, the famed Italian brand, has recently released their latest tote bag that had the nation in stitches because it looks exactly like an ice bucket… just much chicer, of course.
This ice bucket tote bag, from Gucci’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection, costs USD$949 on Farfetch. That’s about RM3,700 per tote!
It comes in millennial pink and has the brand’s signature logo engraved on the side. Meanwhile, words like ‘Guccification’, ‘Sine Amore Nihil’, ‘Summer MMXVII’ and ‘XXV’ are carved at the bottom.
Those who are fans of the brand would know that this isn’t their first time taking inspo from our everyday items. Previously, they released a sneaker line that looks pretty similar to our dirty school shoes. Yep!
Besides the sneakers, they had also released bamboo incense sticks that costs USD$70 (approx. RM270). Nah bruh, I think I will just stick to the regular RM20-ish incense sticks.
However, Gucci isn’t the only high fashion brand that’s taken inspiration from items in our daily lives. In fact, Raf Simons had released a USD$302 (approx. RM1,200) duct tape that said “Walk With Me” for his spring/summer 2017 collection. Talk about bizarre items at bizarre prices!
Well, it looks like the high fashion industry is either running out of ideas or they are just beginning to realise the beauty of our everyday items. Either way, fashion is always baffling, to me at least.
What do you think of Gucci’s latest ice bucket-inspired tote bag? Would you consider buying it?
