They were successfully tracked down around Bukit Mertajam, Penang, on Monday (27 October) by an enforcement team from the Perak Contingent Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department. All suspects were brought to the Kuala Kangsar Magistrate’s Court yesterday (28 October) for a remand application, and the court granted a 2-day remand.
The viral incident took place on Kilometre 249 at around 3.15 PM on 10 October, when an ambulance belonging to the Ministry of Health (MOH) was on its way to provide emergency assistance at Kilometre 260. The ambulance’s path in the right lane was blocked by the suspects, who were performing dangerous stunts on their motorcycles.

“The police are taking this incident seriously because it involves the safety of road users. Strict action was taken so that it could be used as a lesson to all parties.”
Noor Hisam said that the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and all five motorcycles used by the teenagers involved in the incident have been seized by the police.
