Every once in a while, you see something so heartwarming that your faith in humanity is restored and these generous GrabFood riders in Toa Payoh, Singapore are a shining example of this.
In a post on Facebook, one of the riders posted about the good deed they did recently as they wanted to help the homeless people in Toa Payoh. It is believed that they grouped together on April 13 for a charity ride to find the homeless and give them some of the food that they had prepared.
The riders had bought boxes of food – including biscuits and packet drinks – and had gathered at a void deck of a block of flats. They started to pack bags of the food, ready to be given out. Everyone lends a hand as they laugh and joke around so that they can start seeking out the needy.
It is unclear how many of them were involved but it looks like there were about 20 of them. After they were done repacking the food, they started going around the neighbourhood on their Personal Mobility Devices (PMDs) while looking for those who are living on the streets.
During this time, they encountered several of the homeless people in alleyways, on public benches and several other areas. The group of kind GrabFood riders also did not forget to thank other people who helped, saying, “Thanks to those who were involved in this event and for their contributions in the form of time, donations and effort for making this happen.”
Netizens were touched and inspired by their generous gestures and praised the GrabFood riders, saying that they would be blessed in the future.
That’s a really kind gesture that just restored our faith in humanity!
