Pippa Mckinney from Stockport, England posted a status on Facebook after what she thought was an awesome night out, in hopes to find a man she met after he gave her a wrong number.
Pip was out in Manchester to celebrate her birthday, October 3rd. She hits one of the nightclubs and met “stunning” man whom she shared kisses with. He even invited her to go to a hotel or his ‘mum’s house’ to which she declined.
When she woke up the next day, she shared a picture of herself with a man she only knew as Matty, from Wythenshawe, and a plea to be reunited with him.
“He’s from Whythenshaw and is called Matt, help anyone?”
Jokes were thrown saying that maybe he gave the wrong number on purpose. However, things took a turn when his girlfriend, Emily responded on the post.
A friend of Emily’s had tagged her in the status, and after Pippa spotted Emily’s cover photo with the mystery man (which has since been deleted), Pippa realised she must be his girlfriend.
When she realised what had happened, Pippa wrote: ‘I can’t believe it, knew it would be the case. ‘Not my fault, he told me he was single.’
It is worth noting that Emily dumped Matt right away on that post itself, publicly ending their one-year relationship.
‘Knew I shouldn’t have shared this f***’s sake.’
But the status, which has 1,600 comments on Facebook, has brought in some abuse for Pippa because many felt she should have deleted the thread.
Pippa said: ‘I was absolutely gutted. I know I had only met him on a night out but we instantly hit it off and I really did like him. I thought he looked stunning and he was really friendly, we just clicked.
‘But when I realised he had a girlfriend I couldn’t believe it. I felt really embarrassed, especially once the post went viral. I feel embarrassed for his girlfriend too as this is not her fault.
Afterwards, Matt 22 also voiced his frustrations over the ordeal, calling her a liar and fame seeker.
In an interview, he mentioned, “I hold my hands up. I’ve made a massive mistake. I’ve ruined the best thing that has ever happened to me. Not only have I disrespected Emily, but I’ve disrespected her and my entire family.
“I’ll never live this down. It was one single drunken kiss that obviously meant more to her than it ever did to me. It was a mistake and I’m sure people have done a lot worse. This has ruined me. Emily won’t speak to me.
“I gave her a fake number for a reason. I didn’t want to let her down hard, I’m not that type. I wish I did now. The kiss was stupid and I instantly regretted it. After the kiss I went over to my mate and told him, ‘we are leaving’. I forgot about it and then in the morning I saw the picture and it all came back to me like a bad dream, which I want to forget.”
However, Pip came back saying that it’s a really bad excuse and now he’s playing the victim game.
“May i add to you (all) when you have read it. he wanted me to leave with him.” She defends.
She claims he told her that he was 22 and that his name was Matty but that he gave a false surname.
Pippa said: “I thought he was gorgeous and we got on really well. I have been single for eight months. He was really good looking and genuine and nice, or so I thought.
“I was talking to him all night. We were dancing together and kissing. He had well nice eyes. He kept asking me if I was single and saying I was stunning. He kept saying ‘you’re stunning, are you sure you are definitely single?’ And I asked him the same and he said he was.
“We shared a good few kisses and he asked me if I would go to a hotel with him. He even asked if I would go back to his mum’s house in Wythenshawe but I took a taxi home afterwards.”
