At some point in our lives, times are bound to get tough and it’s entirely up to us on how we navigate through the circumstances and survive. In an era of mental illness without a safe haven for mental illness, it’s no surprise that suicidal tendencies can cross anyone’s mind.
Local model and influencer Gatita Yan is known for flaunting her wealth on social media at times but many did not know her mental and emotional struggle before she found her fame and success. When answering questions via her IG stories recently, Gatita revealed that used to try ending her life in the past when things were too overwhelming, and admitted that being famous as an influencer is not as fun as many have perceived.
“Everyone starts from ground zero. But what makes it tougher for many people is cyberbully.”
While it happened in the past, Gatita admitted that she was not ready for harsh comments initially and she tried to take away her life by swallowing dishwasher detergent.
“It tasted so bad but I didn’t care about it, because I didn’t see any hope in my life.”
Gatita survived but at a cost. She suffers gastric issues from time to time, but even Gatita herself isn’t sure if the illness is the consequence of her suicide attempt in the past.
Regardless, Gatita took the time to remind everyone to be mindful of their words and don’t find enjoyment in cyberbullying.
“You never know how hurtful your words can be. Don’t find pleasure in cyberbullying.”
In her Instagram story today (August 22), Gatita revealed that she visited the clinic to get her gastric issues checked.
“The good news is, I don’t need to come for consultation anymore but I have to eat a a lot of supplements to keep my tummy healthy.”
Everyone has a past, especially before they found their current success. In this case, there is 1 thing that we can keep in mind – always be mindful of our words.
