FUJIFILM launches the powerful FUJINON Lens

News 11348 01

The new FUJINON Lens joins the lineup of GF lenses, i.e. interchangeable lenses for the GFX Series of Fujifilm’s mirrorless digital cameras equipped with the large-format sensor measuring approximately 1.7 times that of the 35mm full-frame sensor.

Aragane shared, “The GF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR is a super telephoto prime lens that can capture images up to 500mm (equivalent to 396mm in 35mm format), making it the longest in the lineup of GF lenses.” When combined with the Fujinon Teleconverter GF1.4X TC WR, which expands the lens’ focal length, it achieves a maximum focal length of 700mm (equivalent to 554mm in 35mm format). Despite being a super telephoto lens, it weighs approximately 1,375g and offers high mobility.

The FUJINON Lens with the GFX100S II

“The combination of the powerful telephoto performance of the GF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR and the high resolution that the GFX series boasts results in a synergistic effect that allows for the precise depiction of fine details. This lens can accurately capture the sweat flying from athletes during decisive sports moments, the wrinkles on the skin of wild animals, and the individual feathers of birds, bringing out a level of realism and detail that cannot be perceived with the naked eye,” narrated Aragane.

By miniaturising a typically large and heavy super telephoto lens and achieving high-speed and high precision autofocus, the GFX series enables super telephoto photography in sports, wildlife, and bird photography, where high mobility is required. Furthermore, with improved image stabilisation sensing accuracy and optimal mechanical design, it achieves a powerful image stabilisation mechanism with up to 6.0 stops of compensation. You can comfortably enjoy handheld shooting in the challenging super telephoto range where camera shake is more likely to occur. By combining the GFX series with the GF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR, which is commonly used for super telephoto photography dominated by 35mm full-frame cameras, it opens up new possibilities and allows for unprecedented image depiction.
