9 police officers from the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) tragically died in an accident recently that involved an FRU truck and a lorry. 3 were seriously injured while 7 others suffered minor injuries.
The FRU truck driver woke up in the hospital last night and learned about the death of his comrades.

Koperal Mohd Harrisul Ikhsan Mohd Mahabudin is now battling his emotions and guilt as he blames himself for the tragedy that befell his teammates.
Harrisul is currently receiving treatment at the Teluk Intan Hospital, and according to his wife, Nor Ain, he has not stopped blaming himself after learning that 9 of his friends had died.
“I convinced him not to blame himself. He feels responsible because he was the one driving.”
“Last night, he video called Nizam (Corporal Nizam Tarmizi) and apologised. He also met Zulnaidi (Corporal Mohammad Zulnaidi Muhammad Zulkifli) and apologised to him as well,” Ain said.

While being overwhelmed by grief, Harrisul received support from the surviving members of the FRU officers, and his wife said no one is blaming him for the unfortunate accident.
Ain also informed that her husband suffered head injuries and several broken ribs as a result of the accident.
“Thank God, he’s awake. He can now walk to the toilet on his own. But he doesn’t remember anything about the accident. Before he knew it, he was already in the hospital,” he said.
Recalling the moment she received news of the incident, Nor Ain said she almost collapsed.
“My heart broke. I kept praying that nothing bad happened. I contacted many people, desperate to know if my husband is still alive or not,” she said, reported Berita Harian.
On Tuesday, it was reported that an FRU truck carrying 18 personnel from Unit 5 Sungai Senam was involved in an accident with a lorry carrying stones at about 8.50 am. Eight members died at the scene, and another died while receiving treatment at the Teluk Intan Hospital. Nine others were injured.
The FRU truck was on its way back to Ipoh after finishing duty in conjunction with the Chitrapournami celebration when it was hit by the lorry.
