A freak storm hit parts of Klang Valley last night, and if you were around KL during that time, you probably saw how bad the weather was.
The strong wind and heavy rain wreak havoc as they did not only damage the hawker stalls around the Bukit Bintang area but the weather also blew away windows and walls at a flat in Loke Yew. Despite the major damages and the huge loss, no death or injuries were reported.
Although rare, it was not the first time that the residents of the flat experienced such an incident. The walls and windows were also blown away by strong wind back in 2014, as reported by Harian Metro.
Another video was also shared by a TikTok user, which shows the outcome of the freak storm from inside the unit with the walls and windows that were blown away. We can only imagine the loss and the consequences that the owner has to bear following the damage.

Fortunately, the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia quickly came to the rescue and as of 8;30 pm last night (19 May), they had received about 15 reports of fallen trees. At least 13 cars and 5 motorcycles were damaged and the fallen trees obstructed the traffic in multiple areas in KL.
In the meantime, the freak storm also knocked down some tents outside Pavilion Mall in Bukit Bintang, and the scene was chaotic.
