The police arrested a teen on 28 June at Pasir Puteh, a district in Kelantan, Malaysia for being in possession of what is suspected to be heroin.
According to a report from BERNAMA, the 17-year-old who is also a Form 5 student in a secondary school in the district, was arrested in an operation at the side of the road in Kampung Lembah Semerak.
It is said that the teen was riding a Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle without a license plate.
“He tried to run away but in the end, he was caught by the district’s narcotics criminal investigation team which conducted the operation.”
The Pasir Puteh district police chief, Superintendent Zaizul Rizal Zakaria, added that the police did a check on the suspect’s motorcycle and found about 20 plastic bottles with yellow caps.
The bottles were all filled with white powder and the police believes that it is heroin. They seized the bottle and the drugs amounted to a whopping 74.80 grams which is worth around RM40,000.
Superintendent Zaizul Rizal Zakaria also mentioned that the suspect tested positive for methamphetamine.
The teen will be remanded for a total of 7 days till 4 July for further investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
