The bubble tea craze is taking the world by storm, invading our lives with insta-worthy aesthetics and bouncy black pearls that feel just right on the tongue. Even if tea is not really your cup of tea – pun intended, you have to admit that you probably are a little curious about all the hype, and all it takes is just one turn to the dark side to become one of those bubble tea hype-hunters that populate SS15’s Boba Alley.
That being said, it looks like IKEA is jumping on the bandwagon as they are now serving their very own bubble tea at their Thailand branch in Bangkok! IKEA Malaysia, time to step up your game!
According to Klook.com, each cup is priced at THB45 (approx. RM5.80), and comes with boba that is tiny enough to be slurped with a regular-sized straw. You can also add extra tapioca pearls by paying an extra THB10 (approx. RM1.30).
While IKEA is famous for their mouth-watering meatballs – more so than for their furniture – IKEA Bangkok just might be the place to go to satisfy your dessert cravings because not only do they serve bubble tea but various flavours of soft serve ice cream as well!
Costing THB29 (approx. RM3.80) each, their soft serve ice cream is Cotton Candy flavoured that comes in pretty swirls of blue and yellow to represent the colours of the Sweden flag and the IKEA logo.
Other flavours include:
- Milky Strawberry, THB60 (approx. RM7.80)
- Yogurt Muesli, THB45 (approx. RM5.80)
- Butterscotch Choco Crunch, THB85 (approx. RM11.00)
You thought that was it? IKEA Bangkok doesn’t stop there! They even have an ice cream bar where you can customise your ice cream to your liking.
You can choose either a medium or large cup and fill it with the flavours like milk, soy, and other seasonal flavours.
What’s even crazier is that you have a selection of 20 different toppings to choose from including marshmallows, biscuit sandwiches, candies, cookies, and many more. You can now customise your dessert alongside your home. How cool is that?
IKEA Bangkok certainly has taken it to the next level, and we gotta admit, we’re kinda jelly. *hint IKEA Malaysia* We want IKEA bubble tea too!
