Most of the time, when foreign travelers come to Malaysia, it’s because they want to experience our local cultures, nature, food and more, right?
Well, one foreign travelers got the ultimate typical Malaysian experience from an elderly person, an experience that every local person has had to endure and can relate to.
Traveler, Maxwell Carver took to his TikTok account to showcase his funny interaction with an elderly man in Klang, Malaysia, where he had to deal with a string of questions about why he wasn’t married yet! Don’t we all know how that goes.
He wrote, “Near the bus terminal in Klang, we met Abu Samah, who questioned me about my marital status and religious beliefs.”
In the video, the elderly man, Abu Samah, could be seen immediately asking Maxwell whether he was married.
Here’s how the hysterical conversation went:
Abu Samah: Are you married?
Maxwell: I am not married.
Abu Samah: Why?
Maxwell: I don’t- I don’t- I don’t know!
Abu Samah: Why?? Nowadays, there are so many girls!
Maxwell: Can you help me?
Abu Samah: Yeah. What is your religion?
Maxwell: No religion.
Abu Samah: No religion? Then, how can you marry another person?
Maxwell: I don’t know!
Abu Samah: Huh??
Maxwell: I don’t- why are you asking me these questions?!
Do you see the panic in his eyes? What a familiar feeling.
They then went on to talk about Klang and introduced themselves to each other.
It genuinely felt like Maxwell was being scolded by his own grandfather for not being married!
