Even when we’re sick, there is one thing that all Malaysians will never forget, which is to take MC to serve as proof of sickness.

On May 23, the Director of  Tangkak Hospital in Johor issued a short notice on Facebook saying that there was a case of missing medical certificates.

“Please be informed that the Tangkak Hospital in Johor has lost medical certificate (Perubatan 9- Pin.15/93) wiith the serial number HTGK F 896400.”

Hence, medical certificates with the serial number HTGK F 896400 are unusable.

According to Sinar Harian, a police report was also lodged for this case on May 11.

This is the first time many Malaysians have heard of this (including us), and they have expressed their surprise at this peculiar case.

“There are people stealing MCs? Funny.”

“Those who use MCs from Tangkak Hospital will be questioned 2-3 times by their employers,” said another user.

One netizen commented, “This is the first time I’ve heard about missing MCs.”

Besides the fun, fraudulent MCs of government hospitals can be obtained from syndicates for the right price, and in recent years, many have been arrested and charged in court for buying them.

Even though a paid rest day sounds good, it is always best not to do anything illegal.
