It’s safe to say that almost everyone is under some kind of stress now, whether it’s because of the pandemic, the economy or even just life in general! How to distress? The answer’s simple – adorable huskies!

Now that I’ve got your attention, this cafe located in the cosy corner of SS7, Kelana Jaya has some of the most friendly huskies you can ever find! Huskiss is a pet cafe housing eight woolly huskies and Alaskan malamutes solely intended for users to simply destress.

Handling the business during and post Movement Control Order

We had the privilege of chatting with the owner of Huskiss, 23-year-old Chan, who said his cafe started from his love of dogs after growing up with them. Being a hospitality graduate, he said while his degree did teach him how to deal with customers, huskies require a whole other special treatment.

“Our huskies are well taken care of, well-fed and exercised regularly. We even have a vet who regularly visits us to make sure the dogs are healthy.”

The doggos, adorably named, Jean, Hailey, Steffi, Storm, Orien, Queen, Dash and Flash, are extremely well-behaved and also extremely clean.

When asked how it was like sustaining the cafe during the Movement Control Order due to the fact that most businesses were asked to close down, Chan said:

“This is a tough business to stay in as we’re dealing with livestock but thankfully, we’re pulling through.”

Do’s and Dont’s with huskies

Chan then explained some of the Dos and Don’ts when handling huskies where some of the Dos are to, of course, feed and exercise them regularly while making sure they’re always in a cold environment.

The space is large and always maintained at a certain temperature to ensure the doggos and the customers are comfortable

Extremely curious and excited to meet new people, one of the doggo can’t help sniffing our writers to scour for any tasty treats.

Some of the Don’ts are to refrain from training the huskies when they’re too old as they get used to their habits quickly. Not only that, huskies should not be agitated as they tend to play rough.

“We’re not claiming to be therapists but there’s no denying that dogs do make you feel better. Our huskies are so comfortable with children with special needs especially autistic children as well.”

You must be thinking, what sets Huskiss apart from other pet cafes? Well, for one, they’re ethical and you just know the doggos are being well-taken care of. If you’re someone who loves dogs but can’t afford to have them, this is your place as well.

It’s surprising how photogenic they are despite it nearing their bed time.

Not only are the huskies cute, they’re also extremely talented. Hailey, the leader of the pack has landed a starring role in an upcoming Tamil film. You can even hire the doggos to be a part of your photoshoot, provided the owner or the employees are present at all times.
